Mission Statement: We fix the ancient low oxygen problems in
bait tank and live well water with new aquatic oxygen supplementation technology
and knowledge of how to use the equipment safely in order to provide the best
live fish transport care possible. We provide extensive and ongoing customer
support at no charge. Our goal is to provide anglers with the the
most modern livewell oxygenating equipment and the knowledge necessary to be successful transporting live
bait and live tournament gamefish safely. Managing live well water quality is
the key for successful live bait and tournament fish transports. Our track
record over the years is unmatched!
Oxygenation Systems of Texas builds, services
and sells top of the line portable and stationary live well oxygen injection systems, The Oxygen Edge™.
Our aquatic life support systems are used by sport fishermen and
commercial fishermen who demand the highest quality live
bait possible; baitfish that are more energetic and durable than any fresh
caught bait require high doses of pure supplemental oxygen dissolved in livewell
water. Our company concept is based on the fact that every summer live bait
fish and tournament gamefish transported in boat livewells and bait tanks often
become sick, lethargic and often die during and post transport because of
chronic livewell suffocation (hypoxia) and is caused by fishermen's choices of
poor livewell oxygenating equipment (mechanical aerators and livewell water
pumps).
David Kinser, the founder, applies to fish, 27 years of
human medical experience and his expertise with human oxygen life support transport system concepts, design,
fabrication, modifications and novel applications. Being an avid live bait
fisherman and tournament angler plus having an exact understanding about the chemistry and physics of
oxygen transport and oxygen life support equipment, the door was open to new and
innovative aquatic life
support transport systems applications, a novel career field and business opportunity that
began in 1993 which has thrived in the sportfishing and commercial fishing
industry worldwide.
We supercharge live bait with the precise dose of
oxygen necessary for long transports in closed livewells and bait tanks. A minimal
dose of oxygen is necessary to sustain life, a considerable higher dose of
oxygen is needed for supercharging. A fisherman must have adjustable oxygen
equipment capable of delivering various doses and volumes of oxygen,
adjusting the dose of oxygen is not only vital, it's cost effective. Adverse summertime
conditions, hot bait tank water coupled with livewell overstocking, always leads to
increased acute and delayed mortality and poor fish health in the summer with aerators and
water pumps. Most attempts to correctly poorly oxygenated boat livewells and
bait tanks with aerators and water pumps fail miserably ever summer. Why? Because
air is not oxygen. Livewell oxygen deprivation is the most serious
bait tank and livewell water quality problem, especially when sustained livewell
oxygen deprivation last all day is boat livewell every summer.
All professional live fish transporters, federal, state and
proprietary fish hatcheries, transport and oxygenate live fish exclusively with
compressed oxygen bubbling into their live wells or liquid oxygen systems. Fish hatcheries do not transport any live fish anyplace or at any time
with mechanical aerators alone because there is not enough oxygen in air to prevent
oxygen deprivation/suffocation during the transport. Livewell oxygen systems
are mandatory
for all professional fish transporters worldwide.
The Oxygen Edge™ is built for transporting and
supercharging live bait fish, shrimp, mature tournament catch and release
gamefish fish. The Oxygen Edge™ is not repackaged / relabeled medical equipment
and was not built for a 150 Lb. person with heart and lung diseases or welders.
It was built specifically to transport live bait fish, shrimp and tournament
gamefish with
water quality maximum and safety foremost. Our attractive white
aluminum oxygen tanks are miniaturized, compact,
light weight and, easy to operate and clean. Simply submerge the diffuser in the bait tank and turn the oxygen
tank valve left half around on. Adjusting the oxygen regulator is easy,
just dial in the pounds of bait or tournament fish you are transporting or
stockpiling. You may maintain and transport from 1 - 240 pounds of live bait or live
gamefish as safely as any federal or state fish hatchery.
Our nickel plated brass precision adjustable oxygen
regulators administer the correct dose of oxygen needed for supercharging while eliminating
excessive oxygen waste and gas cost.
The costs of continuous operation is less than one cent
per hour. Fewer oxygen tank refills are needed
because The Oxygen Edge™ is efficient. You may refill the portable
oxygen tank at home at your convenience in 5 minutes with the brass transfilling adaptor. Simple step by step refilling instructions are included with
each system. Trips to the oxygen supplier for
portable oxygen tank refills take time and require travel, plus they are expensive.
When captive live bait fish need supercharging
during transport we give them compressed oxygen, the same way all fish
hatcheries transport live fish through out the USA. When transporting
hooked tournament gamefish and keeping them healthy in your boat livewell all
day in summer tournaments is necessary for winning and conservation,
supplemental oxygen administration in livewell water is necessary to maintain
100% dissolved oxygen saturations whether your livewell contains 1 gamefish or a
couple of limits of gamefish.
The Oxygen Edge™ is the world's
most efficient live well oxygen injection system since 1993, born out of necessity and
anglers' demands for transporting and warehousing healthy high quality live bait fish
overnight. Transporting mature tournament gamefish long
distances for many hours in closed livewell systems dramatically improves summer
tournament survival and fish while minimizing acute and delayed mortality
and poor tournament fish health. The Oxygen Edge™
automatically controls the correct dose and volume of pure oxygen required by your live
bait fish and tournament limits; it's a turn on and forget boat livewell/bait
tank system
that's quiet, dependable and works flawlessly year round, especially in warm
summer livewell water.
