Oxygen Regulator Safety: Colored aluminum alloy and “shinny” chrome/nickel alloy plated click-style adjustable dose oxygen regulators are commonly Made in China. This type high pressure oxygen regulator (made in China” are extremely susceptible and prone to Galvanic Corrosion type oxidation, metal pitting and mechanical failure when exposed to marine environments or livewell supplements that contain electrolytes (salt).
Galvanic Corrosion: That white powdery corrosion commonly seen on aluminum oxygen regulators and aluminum oxygen cylinders made with aluminum alloys encased with a plastic coating. Oxygen regulators made with aluminum metal alloys always have problems with Galvanic Corrosion damage especially when used in marine, salty fishing environments. Aluminum oxygen regulators exposed to salty ambient air, bait and fish livewell supplements containing electrolytes (salt) and special internal Zinc components are also at risk for developing Galvanic Corrosion problems. More combinations of metals alloys used in oxygen regulators and oxygen cylinders encased in a plast coating insure more Galvanic Corrosion and metal deterioration problems. Our 30-day Generic O2 regulator Product Warranty does not cover regulator malfunction and failure caused by Galvanic Corrosion. There is only 1 synthetic lubricant that is safe to use on high pressure oxygen equipment. It is not Salt Away
